Privacy policy
Product Finder · Last updated: 20 October 2026
This privacy policy explains how Product Finder ("the app") accesses, collects, uses, stores, protects, shares and deletes data, in particular data received from Google APIs ("Google user data"). It applies to the app and to this website.
1. Who is responsible
Product Finder is developed and operated by Anis Smajlovic, contact anis@smajlovic.info. The app is a research tool that runs on the developer's own computer. It is used only by the developer himself; it has no other users and no customer accounts.
2. Google user data the app accesses and collects
When the user signs in with Google and grants access to the scope
https://www.googleapis.com/auth/adwords (Google Ads API), the app accesses and collects the
following data from the user's own Google Ads account:
- Keyword Planner metrics for keywords that the user entered himself: the estimated average monthly searches, the monthly search estimates of the past 12 months, the advertiser competition level and index, and the top-of-page bid ranges, for Switzerland, in German, on Google Search;
- the currency code of the Google Ads account, so that the bid ranges are shown in the right currency;
- an OAuth refresh token and short-lived access tokens issued by Google, which allow the app to make these read-only requests.
The app does not access or collect any other Google user data. In particular, it does not access:
- the user's name, email address, profile picture, contacts or other Google Account information;
- campaigns, ads, ad groups, budgets, billing or payment details, or conversion data in Google Ads;
- data from any other Google service, such as Gmail, Drive or Calendar.
The app does not create, change, pause or delete anything in a Google Ads account.
3. How the app uses Google user data
Google user data is used only to provide the app's user-facing feature: showing the user Google's search estimates for the keywords of his own product ideas next to other research data, so that he can decide which products to sell in German-speaking Switzerland.
Google user data is not used for any other purpose. In particular, it is never used:
- for advertising of any kind, including targeted, personalised, retargeted or interest-based advertising;
- for profiling users, or to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes;
- to build databases for sale or for third parties, or to sell to data brokers or information resellers;
- to develop, improve or train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.
4. How Google user data is shared, transferred or disclosed
Google user data is not sold, rented, shared, transferred or disclosed to any third party. It is not published and not given to advertisers, data brokers, information resellers or service providers. The only exception would be a disclosure required by applicable law, such as a binding court order.
5. How Google user data is stored
- The keyword metrics and the account currency are stored only on the user's own computer, in the app's local data files. They are not uploaded to any server or cloud service, and this website does not hold them.
- The OAuth refresh token is stored in a local settings file on the same computer. It is never displayed, logged or sent anywhere except to Google's own servers.
6. How Google user data is protected
- All requests between the app and Google use encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
- The computer that stores the data uses full-disk encryption and is protected by the user's login.
- The settings file with the refresh token can be read only by the user's own operating-system account.
- The app has no server, no online database and no user accounts that could expose the data.
7. Retention and deletion
- Keyword metrics are kept only as long as the user needs them to compare his product ideas. The app uses the newest results for each keyword; stored results stay on the computer until the user deletes them.
- All Google user data can be deleted at any time: deleting the app's local data files removes the stored metrics, and deleting the refresh token from the settings file removes the app's access.
- Access can be revoked at any time at Google Account › Third-party connections; the refresh token then stops working immediately.
- Deletion can also be requested by email to anis@smajlovic.info; the data is then deleted.
8. Compliance with the Google API Services User Data Policy
Product Finder's use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
9. This website
This website (smajlovic.info) only describes the app. It uses no cookies, no analytics and no tracking, has no forms and collects no personal data. It is delivered through Cloudflare, which processes technical connection data, such as IP addresses, to deliver and protect the site.
10. Changes and contact
If the way the app uses Google user data changes, this policy is updated first and the date at the top is changed. Questions about this policy or about your data: anis@smajlovic.info.
